Spring

Redbuds, Dogwoods, and Daffodils

dance before our eyes.

Tulips catch raindrops,

like salvation cups.

April winds lift dead leaves,

and twirl them away.

Rocks overturned, rolled away,

teaming with life behind them.

Songbirds nest and sing

a chorus to renewal.

Every shade of green,

every hue of blue,

every color bursting forth

before our eyes.

And though the grass withers

and the flowers fade,

the season of resurrection

echoes the word of the One

which stands forever.

The grass withers, the flower fades;
but the word of our God will stand for ever.
